Mayor and Board,

We conducted the pre-proposal conferences today for the two development RFPs for the NID properties at I-435 and Route 45. I'm pleased with the turnout. We had 12 in the first session (45 Park Place - SE corner) and 7 in the second session (west side). Some people in the first session remarked that they were interested in all properties but couldn't stick around. We had a mix of developers and architects/engineers who were scouting opportunities for developer clients. Overall the questions were good and demonstrated to me that those present had already digested the RFPs and were thinking about proposal concepts.

It's too soon to know what the turnout means. Some people attend just to scan the crowd with no intent of proposing. Others who plan to propose stay away from the conference to avoid exposing their interest. Mike Kellam told me he has been in contact with and expects proposals from at least two groups that were not represented. Overall, I'm encouraged by the response and remain confident that we'll have options to choose from when proposals are due in September.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks,

Lauren
