Subject: roll call vote on consent?
I think I messed up tonight. Kari wanted to abstain on Item 4H on consent. I told her we would approve the consent agenda by roll call, so she could just voice her approval with the exception of Item 4H. The Board ended up approving the consent agenda by voice vote. I thought we agreed to always approve the consent agenda by roll call due to periodically having ordinances on the consent agenda. I notice on the agenda you have a note that is only the case for 2nd readings.
Unless there is some compelling reason not to, I suggest we always use voice votes for consent in the future. It avoids confusion and would better accommodate Aldermen recording votes for or against any individual items on the agenda. Let me know your thoughts.
Kari, Mayor, and Sean - sorry for inadvertently muddying the waters.
